Bates Motel has finally caught up to the general story arc of the original 'Psycho', and its amazing.

The show shows the slow descent of Norman Bates from a relatively normal (yet odd) boy into a crazed split-personality murderer. Its been a slow burn, but each season has improved on the last and now that Norman has finally in been in the 'full Psycho' phase for a while, it has really payed off.

One of the best parts of the show is that they have taken several artistic liberties with his backstory/ the overall plot, so that while still feeling familiar, it doesnt feel like you're just rewatching the same old movie. They have managed to turn Norman Bates into a sympathetic character, that you can't happen to feel sorry for despite everything that he has done.
