In my opinion, it completely added to the whole unknown, chaotic mess that the battle actually was. It made me feel helpless and, at times, utterly confused as a viewer and, in return, led me to sympathize with the Living and what they were up against that much more. It made me feel a part of it rather than simply a spectator. Especially with all of the close-up POV's throughout the battle to make you feel like you were actually a part of it rather than spectating with nice and clear wide shots throughout.
I really appreciated it and was kind of disappointed to see so much disapproval of it the last couple of days. If we, as viewers, were screaming in our living rooms " HOLY SHIT WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON", think about what the characters were feeling...it was a beautiful and suspenseful stylistic choice and I freaking loved it.
This may not be worth a post and will probably be downvoted, but I am not seeing many "Pro-Darkness" people out there so I wanted to make sure it is known there are some who actually appreciated it rather than simply tolerating it.
