Just finished my second season of the walking dead, Season Two. My thoughts and Opinions + Rankings on each main character

This season was actually really good. It started off pretty strong, but personally I feel the whole Sophia thing held it back a little but it did make for some important character development with a lot of the characters. I did get a little bored towards the end due to the whole Lori/Shane/Rick thing, I honestly got tired of it after a while but luckily the season picked back up the episode before the finale. Making the finale truly amazing.

  1. Rick Grimes - This season was a improvement for Rick. I was definitely annoyed with him at points, and got bored of him eventually because of the whole Shane/Lori thing. However this season showed more of his character, his determination to find Sophia was great. Along with that, him killing off Shane was amazing because I hated Shane so he definitely did what he had to do. I'm not really in his corner 100% yet, but we'll see what season three brings. His parenting with Carl could use a lot more work though.
  2. Dale Horvath - He definitely got better this season. Him being the first to see through Shane's bullshit really made me like him a lot more. All the talks he gave to the rest of the cast really made me like his character a lot more, sadly his death was very unexpected. I understand he probably had no use considering Shane's death would be coming up, however I definitely thought he wouldn't went out in the hands of Shane and not like that.
  3. Glenn Rhee - I feel the same way about him after the first season, he's a funny guy. Maggie treating him like dirt and him still trying to make things right really made me like him 10x more. Unfortunately this season titled him as "The Test Hamster"
  4. Daryl Dixon - Big improvement from the first season! Character development worked wonders on him, he really showed to be a caring guy with a hard shell. He did have a few bad scenes, like him picking at Carol's daughter's death. He clearly has the most flaws out of the group next to Shane, clearly been hurt a lot of times throughout his life and I truly admire his determination to save Sophia
  5. T-Dog - He was absolutely robbed of little to no camera time or storyline this season, it really sucks to be the only black person on the main cast. He was hurting in the beginning of the season, but sadly the disappearance of Sophia and the shooting of Carl overshadowed all of that and he was left out to be a after thought. Hopefully he gets his justice and gets some big storyline in season three.
  6. Randal Culver - He was a breath of fresh air for me, I was pretty interested in him. Only a little though, would've been interesting if he was let go and he immediately found a route back to his group and came back for war.
  7. Carol Peletier - Eh, Nothing really changed my opinion on her this season. She still just comes off as the hopeless lady who just lost her family. Don't love her, but don't hate her. I'm probably the most neutral on her.
  8. Maggie Greene - The first female character who is showing some strong characteristics finally, unfortunately I found her very irritating also. I understand why she was mad but she took it to the max, a very aggressive and bitter character. Once Glenn made up with her she did become a little more likable again, slapping Shane was definitely the highlight of her career.
  9. Hershel Green - He's a great guy also, the walkers in the barn definitely gave me flashbacks to Telltales the Walking Dead where one character also believed the walkers were humans. Except that character was a little more decorated. However, Hershel is a decent character. Don't really have strong feelings for him but he's alright.
  10. Sophia Peletier - Her story was sad, but I have this thought in the back of my head that she was supposed to come up at some point because they dragged the hell out of her being missing. Like I said it made up for great character development but yeah, took too many episodes. Rest In Paradise though.
  11. Andrea Harrison - She really had the quickest fall from grace i've ever seen. I was honestly so ready to see Andrea turn into this badass for season two after her sister's death. However, once she hooks up with Shane she becomes unbearable herself.. all of a sudden she's ten toes down for that man. I really can't remember him even speaking to her as much as he did after they hooked up. It's kinda like he just pretended she didn't exist anymore. Very disappointed in this character.
  12. Lori Grimes - I still stand with how I felt about her after the first season, not much changed except she got a little more annoying. Hopefully with Shane gone she'll finally.. get herself together or something.
  13. Carl Grimes - GOD, this rat is annoying. Sorry but honestly one of the worst types of TWD characters are the children who grow up too fast and think they can take on anything. The only child that I've ever liked on TWD is Clementine. I just found it annoying how he'd always run to Shane for advice as if he was his father, I found it a little weird but I guess I can take into consideration the time he spent with Shane while Rick was in a coma.
  14. Otis - He seemed like a great guy, sadly Shane is a unhinged.
  15. Shane Walsh - Wow, I was told that he'd end up being one of my favorites and that he was one of the best characters ever. However I guess he's not my cup of tea, I understand he was meant to be the villain but honestly this man ranks up as one of the most irritating TV characters for me. I love villains don't get me wrong, but Shane is a very unbearable human being and is clearly mentally screwed. Him saying Rick can't protect his family, him continuously claiming Lori & Carl as his own, Killing Otis etc. Rick killing him and Carl finishing the job easily ranks up as one of my favorite scenes. I can see how people view him as a great character considering he had some compelling moments I won't lie, but he's just not my type.
  16. Beth Greene - Don't really care for her at all, I didn't know she existed until she passed out in the background and was staring at the ceiling in bed. Her suicide attempt was sad to watch but uh, yeah she should've had a little focus on her earlier because her popping up like that was definitely confusing and random unless I wasn't paying attention.
  17. Jimmy - Again, he popped up out of nowhere and never really paid attention to him. Don't care for him at all.

Overall the season was great! I'm hoping for a bad ass character that I can root for to step in, especially excited for the debut of Michonne. She, Glenn & Rick were the only characters I knew of before watching and I heard amazing things about Michonne so i'm all the more excited to began season three.
