So the showrunners of 'Dexter' hated Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter right?

I mean, that's the only logical explanation I have for the following:

1) Coming up with an incest plotline six (seven?) seasons into the show when it was never hinted at even once prior to that.

2) Making two great actors in Hall and Carpenter do their best to actually play that with all the requisite terrible dialogue and nonsensical plotting.

3) Make two great actors like Hall and Carpenter do the above WHILE THEY WERE GOING THROUGH A DIVORCE.

I came to the conclusion that Scott Buck hated these two, the network, and the entire concept of Dexter as a show. It's the only thing that explains the last two seasons.
