Okay, so I'm only about halfway through season 2, so for all I know she gets better. But as it is right now, I cannot STAND Daenerys Targaryen. She's by far not my most hated character, as there are characters I'm actually supposed to hate (Joffrey, Cersei, Littlefinger, Theon, et cetera) and I really like Emilia Clarke, but Daenerys acts so entitled and spoiled. Every other scene she's going on about how she's "Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen" and "the rightful queen" and everyone else is "a false ruler." She assumes that because her father was king, Westeros will automatically support her rule, ignoring the fact that her father was widely hated for being a madman. She also seems to think the best strategy to securing aid is acting superior to everyone and threatening fire and brimstone to someone the moment they don't give her what she wants when she wants it.
Now, I know her life hasn't been easy. She had an abusive and half-crazy brother, and was almost certainly conditioned from birth to remember and know these things, was forced into a marriage, and suffered loss in both her husband and her child. But the way she talks and acts like the throne will somehow only respond to her just makes her sound way too much like Joffrey to me. They both behave as if they're divine and no one can lay a hand on them because they believe themselves to simply be too good. It just makes her seem like she feels she doesn't have to worry about actually being a good ruler, simply because she assumes no one would oppose her anyway. I want to like her character, so I really hope she wises up and matures as the series goes on.
Like I said, I'm only about halfway through season 2, so PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, do NOT spoil anything, PLEASE.
