Rewatching the seasons so I can make a tribute video. Mike talks about Matty and how he could never do the wrong thing, would never do the wrong thing. Always and forever did the right thing, even when nobody would get hurt he would do the right thing. A good samaritan. That's why Mike cares so much about innocent people dying. I always knew he hated innocent people dying, like the innocent citizen that helped the truck driver. It was obvious he felt blamed for the death of that citizen, and felt connected to the ladies story about her lost husband in season 3, a reoccurring character trait with Mike. I thought it was just something they decided to do but he feels so strongly about it because of his son Matt. His son was killed for nothing, partially due to Mike, and Mike doesn't want anybody else to experience what we went through. That's why he cares so much about helping innocent civilians and good samaritans.
